How do I join?

To become a member of DigiVillage, firstly enter the village via digivillage.org.nz home page then click the "Signup" button, choose a username and password, and enter your information. Then click the "Sign Up" button and you're almost done. You will recive an email from DigiVillage requesting you to click the link supplied in the email (below), this will activate your account allowing you to login to the DigiVillage.

How do I confirm my email address?

Please note, the confirmation link to confirm your email address is included in the "Welcome" email you received after signing up. Confirming your email address is required to perform many actions on the DigiVillage website, like uploading videos and downloading content.
New members can follow the steps below to confirm your email:

1. Once you’ve created your username using our Sign Up form at digivillage.org.nz, we’ll send a confirmation email to the address you entered.
2. Click the “Confirm your email address” link within that email. You can also copy and paste the provided link into your browser if you prefer.
3. You’re done! You’ll be directed to a confirmation page, and you can immediately begin exploring the site!

If you don't receive the confirmation email within a few minutes, be sure to check your spam folder to make sure it wasn't misfiled.
If you still haven't received the confirmation email after several hours, you can try confirming your email again with a different email address by returning to the digivillage.org.nz.

I never received my confirmation email. What happened?

If you have just joined DigiVillage, the confirmation link is included in the "Welcome" email you received after signing up. If you were already a member of DigiVillage and are now confirming your email, you will receive a separate confirmation email.
If you don't receive either the Welcome or confirmation email when you expect to, check in your email client's spam folder. If you still haven't received it after several hours, you can try confirming your email again with a different email address.

DigiTV Help

Once you’ve finished editing your video, made sure it's less than 5 minutes, smaller than 100MB, and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

1. Click "Upload Videos" in the upper-right-hand corner of the DigiTV page or click on the playing court in Manawanui.
2. Click the "Select file" button to browse for the video file. Select the file you want to upload.
3. Enter as much information about your video as possible, including Title & Description. The more information you include, the easier it is for users to find your video!
4. Click the "Upload Video" button.

It can take from a couple minutes to an hour for your video to upload to DigiVillage.
If you're receiving an error with your Upload, you might want to make sure you're attempting to upload a file that's recognized by DigiVillage. DigiVillage accepts video files from most digital cameras and camcorders, and cell phones in the .AVI, .MOV, .WMV, and .MPG .MPEG file formats.

What system requirements are needed to watch videos on DigiVillage & DigiTV?

In order to watch videos on our site, make sure you have access to the following system requirements:

1. Macromedia Flash Player 9.0+ plug-in
2. Windows 2000 or higher with latest updates installed
3. Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
4. Firefox 1.1+, Internet Explorer 7.0+, or Safari 1.0+
5. Broadband connection with 300+ Kbps

Please note that all content is moderated by the Heart Foundation before going live on DigiTV. It may take over two working days before your video is available to view on DigiTV.

Item Descriptions

Classrooms Each classroom contains year specific Jump Rope, healthy eating and active movement PDF reference material. Just click on a classroom to view its contents.	Playing Court Click on the playing court to go to DigiTV area part of DigiVillage. Use your membership to upload and view your healthy activity videos and also check out everyone elses.
Notices There are two notice boards, DigiVillage Notices & Links. The DigiVillage Notices contains information posted by DigiVillage. Links to other websites are also posted by DigiVillage.	School hall Click on the school hall to view the Jump Rope teams Combo videos.
Staff room The Staff Room is for teachers only and contains teacher PDF reference material and a teacher message board. Click on the Staff Room to view its contents.	Tips Click on the tip buttons to get helpful hints about using the site.
ECEs/Whare Every ECE that’s registered for the Healthy Heart Award can access all the online resources for the programme including a range of programme material, case studies from ECE’s of Healthy Heart Award in action and they can share and learn with other Early Childhood educators.	Tuck shop Every School that’s registered for the School Food Programme can access all the online resources for the programme including a range of programme material, case studies from other schools of the School Food Programme in action plus they can share and learn with other Teachers around the country.
